This ministry is based on Mark 15:42-47 where Joseph of Arimathea took responsibility for the burial of Jesus. It was started by folks who saw the need to see to our brothers and sisters on their way to Eternity.
It was noted, especially in retirement communities, that few family and friends were able to attend the funeral Mass for several people. Parishioners banded together to form the "Arimatheans" who would attend Mass to honor the departed.
No meetings, no dues...just the wish/ability to attend a few services a year to comfort the family of the deceased and see our brother/sister Home by filling a few pews and lending our voices in prayer.
If you are interested in this ministry, please contact the office and leave your name, e-mail address or phone number. You will receive notice of a funeral/service when few are expected to attend. You are NOT required to attend...just show up if you can.
Thank you for considering this work of Christian charity and mercy.
